Emeralds are sacred stones that are set into the breastplate of judgement worn by the High priest, Aaron. Each stone is engraved with the name of “ the sons of Israel” to represent the twelves tribes of Israel; God’s chosen people.  “So Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel over his heart before the Lord continually. (Exd 28:30)”

Inspiration

The emerald represents the tribe of Judah. It is prophesied that “[Judah’s] hand will be on the necks of [his] enemies” (Gen 49:8). He is described as a lion. King David and Jesus are from this lineage. In Revelation 5:5 Jesus is called “the Lion of the tribe of Judah” who has conquered and is the only one in all of heaven and earth worthy to open the seven scrolls.
